Em outubro de 2022 Camila começou sua mais nova jornada no campo cinematográfico na prestigiosa Universidade de Nova Iorque (NYU) | Tisch School. Hepplin pode aprimorar e adquirir mais conhecimento da indústria cinematográfica americana.
O curso com duração de um ano explora o cenário audiovisual estadunidense e suas influências na industria cinematográfica mundial. O curso online dividido em cinco partes conta com a expertise de professores renomados da NYU e grandes nomes do cinema. O curso é uma imersão no mercado audiovisual mais lucrativo do mundo enriquecido com atividades relacionadas ao tema abordado no módulo em questão que são indispensáveis para obter a certificação.
"Apesar de ter sido um curso online foi intenso como um curso presencial. Foram horas dedicadas em aprender e entregar os projetos. Apesar de poder completar o curso em um ano eu me dediquei o bastante para entregar em tempo mais hábil levando em questão outros cursos que eu estava para começar e que tinha um tempo mais encurtado. NYU sempre foi um sonho pra mim desde que eu comecei a fazer meus filmes. Porque quando eu penso cinema eu penso macro e globalmente, e conhecer e entender o mercado estadunidense, que tem sido o maior explorador dessa arte, é essencial para expandir o meu cinema." - Camila Hepplin
In October 2022 Camila started her newest journey in the cinematography world with the prestigious New York University | Tisch School. Hepplin could improve and acquire more knowledge of the American film industry.
The course has a duration of a year and tackles the audiovisual scenery from the United States and its influence in the world film industry. The course is divided in five parts and counts with the expertise of renowned NYU professors and big names from the industry. It is an immersive look into the most lucrative audiovisual market in the world enriched with assignments regarding the theme of each module that are indispensable to obtain the certification.
"Even though it was an online course it was intense like an in person one. It was hours dedicated to learn and delivery the assignments. The course could be completed in a year but I dedicated myself hard enough to complete in a time spree because of other courses I was about to start with a much less time to complete. NYU has always been a dream to me since I started making my own films. Because when I think cinema I think macro and globaly, and to know and understand the American market, which has been the greatest explorer of this art, is essential to expand my own cinema." - Camila Heppllin

O Brazilian International Monthly Film Festival criou esse ano (2022) sua revista digital com conteúdo exclusivo sobre cinema do mundo inteiro com edição em português e inglês. Em sua primeira edição a revista homenageou e falou sobre Mulheres no Cinema e Camila Hepplin foi uma das entrevistadas.
"Para mim foi uma surpresa e uma honra receber o convite para falar um pouco do meu cinema e de minhas referências ao lado de outras cineastas de outras partes do mundo. A revista é bastante democrática no sentido de não somente está disponível online mas para download, sem contar que em 2 idiomas. Como o festival/revista prestigia em sua essência o Brasil nada mais justo do que ter sua versão em português", fala Camila Hepplin
Em sua entrevista Hepplin fala de suas influências no cinema e por ser um artigo prestigiando mulheres Camila citou duas de suas referências. A atriz e humanitária Audrey Hepburn tem grande influência em seu trabalho, o quanto ela quer que seus filmes, por mais simples que sejam, tenham impacto por serem verdadeiros e tocantes assim como ela se sente quando assiste Hepburn. Outra cineasta mencionada é a Ava DuVernay. Camila relembra como foi impactada pelo trabalho de Ava quando assistiu "13th" e quanto a cineasta enriqueceu o cinema negro e tem influenciado outras mulheres a criarem suas próprias oportunidades no cinema.
The Brazilian International Monthly Film Festival created this year (2022) its digital magazine with exclusive content about cinema from around the world with editions in Portuguese and English. In its first edition, the magazine paid tribute to and talked about Women in Cinema and Camila Hepplin was one of the interviewees.
"For me it was a surprise and an honor to receive the invitation to talk a little about my cinema and my references alongside other filmmakers from other parts of the world. The magazine is very democratic in the sense that it is not only available online but for download. Not to mention that in 2 languages. As the festival/magazine essentially honors Brazil, there is nothing fairer than having its version in Portuguese", says Camila Hepplin
In her interview, Hepplin talks about her influences in the cinema and for being an article honoring women Camila cited two of her references. The actress and humanitarian Audrey Hepburn has a big influence on her work, how much she wants her films, no matter how simple, to have an impact because they are true and touching just like she feels when she watches Hepburn. Another filmmaker mentioned is Ava DuVernay. Camila recalls how she was impacted by Ava's work when she saw "13th" and how much the filmmaker has enriched the black cinema and has influenced other women to create their own film opportunities.

Após estrear na Wolo TV neste no último sábado, 05 de Junho, FACÃO ganhou matéria no prestigiado site de conteúdo negro, SITE MUNDO NEGRO, escrita pelo Jornalista Aquiles Marchel Argolo. Na matéria Arquiles relata de forma poética e de seu ponto de vista não só como jornalista e crítico, mas de cinéfilo, suas impressões sobre o filme. Segundo Aquiles, "FACÃO é uma pequena carta de amor ao cinema e o quanto ele (o cinema) pode fazer para estabelecer conexões entre as pessoas."
Para Camila Hepplin, Aquiles conseguiu muito bem entender o objetivo pelo qual ela escreveu o curta, e a mensagem que ela quis passar ao espectadores. "Enquanto eu lia a matéria eu fiquei muito feliz pelas coisas que o Aquiles escreveu que realmente conectou com minhas ideias e significados do filme e também pelos sinais por ele apontados que apenas eu e algumas pessoas que leram o projeto sabiam, mas que eu nunca tinha compartilhado publicamente com ninguém. Por exemplo, uma das minhas referências para "FACÃO" foi o aclamado filme "CIDADE DE DEUS", e foi a primeira vez que alguém mencionou a referência do filme no meu curta, especialmente nos personagens principais, o que me faz pensar que o filme realmente dialogou com ele." Conta Camila Hepplin.
After debuting on Wolo TV this last Saturday, June 5th, "FACÃO" won an article on the prestigious black content site, SITE MUNDO NEGRO, written by journalist Aquiles Marchel Argolo. In the article, Arquiles describes in a poetic way and from his point of view, not only as a journalist and critic, but also as a cinephile, his impressions of the film. According to Aquiles, "FACÃO is a little love letter to cinema and how much it (cinema) can do to establish connections between people."
For Camila Hepplin, Aquiles managed to understand very well the purpose for which she wrote the short, and the message she wanted to convey to viewers. "While I was reading the article I was very happy for the things Aquiles wrote that really connected with my ideas and meanings of the film and also for the signs he pointed out that only I and some people who read the project knew about, but that I had never shared publicly with anyone. For example, one of my references to "FACÃO" was the acclaimed movie "CITY OF GOD", and it was the first time that someone mentioned the movie reference in my short, especially in thr essence of the main characters, which makes me think the movie really spoke to him." says Camilla Hepplin.

Começamos o mês de junho com essa grande novidade, a estréia de "FACÃO" na Wolo TV. A Wolo é uma plataforma de streaming de conteúdos negro disponibilizados a preço popular, sem obrigação mensal e com alguns conteúdos gratuitos. "FACÃO" será uma das produções que serão disponibilizadas gratuitamente. O curta-metragem estará disponível a partir do dia 05 de junho e ficará no catalogo por tempo indefinido até o momento.
"A gente estava guardando esse novidade desde o final de abril quando conversamos com o fundador e CEO da Wolo TV, Licínio Januário. O BIMIFF é um festival bastante importante já que qualifica os filmes no IMBd (um acrônimo para Internet Movie Database). IMDb é a fonte mais popular e confiável do mundo para conteúdo de filmes, TV e celebridades.“Facão” foi indicado em 8 categorias e levou o prêmio de Melhor Direção.

É com muita alegria que compartilhamos a notícia de que "FACÃO" ficou em segundo lugar na categoria de Melhor Curta escolhido pela audiência. O festival aconteceu de 8 a 18 de abril e adotou um modelo híbrido de Drive-In presencial e exibição online, o último disponível para residentes de Illinois e, com algumas exceções, os estados do Meio-Oeste de Minnesota, Iowa, Wisconsin, Michigan e Indiana por meio da plataforma virtual da Eventive. Foram 45 longas e 36 curtas da América Latina, Espanha, Portugal e Estados Unidos. Incluiu dez estreias na América do Norte, seis nos Estados Unidos e nove no Meio-Oeste.

It is with great joy that we share te news that "MACHETE" got second place in the Audience Choice Award. The Festival took place April 8-18, adopted a hybrid model of in-person Drive-In and online screenings, the latter available to residents of Illinois and, with some exceptions, the Midwest states of Minnesota, Iowa, Wisconsin, Michigan and Indiana through Eventive’s virtual platform. The slate of 45 features and 36 shorts from Latin America, Spain, Portugal and the United States, included ten North American premieres, six U.S. premieres and nine Midwest premieres.

Neste mês a Hepplin Produções e Camila Hepplin emplacaram seus filmes em 2 festivais.
"SETUP " foi selecionado para 5ª edição do Cine Tornado Festival, em Curitiba, Brasil. O filme foi exibido dia 04/12/2018.
"FROM THE BUS", "SETUP", "TAKING AN OSCAR"e "O ARRANJO" foram selecionados para o In-Short Film Festival que acontece em Lagos, na Nigéria de 27 a 29 de dezembro de 2018.
Pelo segundo ano consecutivo Hepplin exibe em Lagos. Ano passado ela exibiu "FROM THE BUS" no African Smartphone International Film Festival.
"Com certeza é um prazer enorme voltar a Lagos, agora com a exibição de todos os filmes que fiz até agora", diz a cineasta.

This month, Hepplin Produções and Camila Hepplin had their films selected in 2 festivals.
"SETUP" was selected for the 5th edition of Cine Tornado Festival, in Curitiba, Brazil. The film was screened 04/12/2018.
"FROM THE BUS", "SETUP", "TAKING AN OSCAR" and "THE ARRANGEMENT" were selected for the In-Short Film Festival that will take place in Lagos, Nigeria from 27 to 29 December 2018.
For the second consecutive year Hepplin screens in Lagos. Last year she screened "FROM THE BUS" at the African Smartphone International Film Festival.
"It sure is a huge pleasure to return to Lagos, now with the screening of all the films I've made so far," says the filmmaker.

Nos dias 20 e 21 de outubro foram oficialmente os últimos dias de gravações do curta de ficção “Facão” escrito e dirigido por Camila Hepplin. As gravações aconteceram na Faculdade de Comunicação da UFBa e no bairro de São Lázaro. A equipe enfrentou uma mudança de tempo inesperada no domingo, mas isso não atrapalhou as filmagens.
Mesmo com um domingo nublado e meio chuvoso conseguimos concluir as filmagens como planejado, é claro que algumas mudanças foram feitas para se adequar ao tempo, mas como a maioria das cenas eram internas a chuva não chegou a preocupar tanto, na verdade ela só fez ajudar pois focamos bastante nas cenas internas de forma que quando o sol brilhava um pouco mais corríamos para gravar as externas, o que otimizou nosso tempo, conta Hepplin.
O filme tem previsão de conclusão para janeiro de 2019 e terá uma pré-estreia para familiares e amigos da equipe, elenco e apoiadores. Em breve divulgaremos o trailer, making of e festivais para os quais o filme foi selecionado.

On October 20 and 21 were officially the last days of filming of the short fiction "Facão" written and directed by Camila Hepplin. The shooting took place in the College of Communications at Federal University of Bahia and in the neighborhood of São Lázaro. The team faced an unexpected change of weather on Sunday, but that did not get in the way of the filming.
Even with a cloudy and rainy Sunday we managed to complete the filming as planned, of course some changes were made to suit the weather but as most of the scenes were indoors the rain did not worry so much, in fact it just helped because we focused enough on the interior scenes so that when the sun shone a little more we ran to catch the outdoors ones, which optimized our time, says Hepplin.
The film is due to be completed by January 2019 and will premiere to family and friends of the team, cast and supporters. Soon we will announce the trailer, posters, making of and festivals for which the film was selected.

Neste último final de semana, dias 13 e 14 de outubro a Hepplin Produções deu início às gravações do novo curta metragem “Facão” escrito e dirigido por Camila Hepplin.
O filme conta com uma equipe de profissionais jovens e de maioria negra de diversas partes de Salvador. No elenco principal temos Heraldo de Deus interpretando Facão e Aíla Oliveira interpretando Pietra. No elenco secundário temos Nathaly Soares e Erivaldo Plácido (pais de Pietra), Hamilton Junior (melhor amigo de Pietra), Deni Oliveira e Tati Abreu (Moças do Ponto de ônibus) e Caíque Copque (receptor). O filme conta uma história de transformação através da arte, onde a confiança e a paixão pelos filmes supera o medo. On this last weekend, October 13 and 14, Hepplin Produções began the filming of the new short film "Facão" written and directed by Camila Hepplin.
The film has a team of young and mostly black professionals from various parts of Salvador. In the main cast we have Heraldo de Deus interpreting Facão and Aíla Oliveira interpreting Pietra. In the secondary cast we have Nathaly Soares and Erivaldo Plácido (Pietra's parents), Hamilton Junior (Pietra's best friend), Deni Oliveira and Tati Abreu (Bus station girls) and Caíque Copque (receiver). The film tells a story of transformation through art, where the trust and passion for films overcomes fear. "Facão", que conta a história de um jovem que vive de pequenos assaltos para se manter e que tem sua vida mudada após assaltar a estudante de Cinema Pietra. Pietra apresenta a Facão, de forma indireta, ao mundo cinematográfico, o que leva ele a encontrar uma paixão na vida e uma amiga.
Com uma equipe quase 100% feminina, um feito pouco visto na indústria do cinema. São mulheres que já trabalham no cinema e que já produziram obras que já rodaram o Brasil e o mundo através dos festivais de cinema levando a Bahia e os brasileiros a lugares que apreciam um bom filme. O objetivo de nossas obras é levar cultura e arte às pessoas, sempre com alguma mensagem positiva na linguagem que empregamos nas nossas narrativas.
O filme não conta com nenhum patrocínio indireto, através de editais. Contamos com o apoio da equipe que topou fazer este filme gratuitamente por amor à arte e por acreditarem neste projeto. "Facão", tells the story of a young man who lives of small robberies to maintain himself and has its life changed after assaulting the student of Cinema Pietra. Pietra presents to Facão, indirectly, the cinematographic world, which leads him to find a passion in life and a friend.
With a team almost 100% female, something hardly seen in the film industry. They are women who already worked in the movies and who have already produced films that have gone through film festivals in Brazil and around the world taking Bahia and Brazilians to places that enjoy a good movie.
The purpose of our works is to bring culture and art to the people, always with some positive message in the language that we use in our narratives.
The film does not count on any indirect sponsorship, through government. We count on the support of the team that agreed to make this film for free for the sake of art and for believing in this project. O curta metragem o Arranjo de Camila Hepplin foi selecionado para a Mostra Sesc de Cinema - Etapa Estadual 2017/2018. O Anúncio dos selecionados foi feito em 05 de Abril de 2018. Este é o segundo Festival em que o curta é selecionado e o segundo Festival brasileiro em que Hepplin tem um filme exibido. Além disso, a diretora, também foi convidada para uma bate-papo para debater o cenário audiovisual feminino na Bahia e no Brasil com outras realizadoras baianas. A mostra acontece de 26 de Junho a 30 de Junho de 2018 e é gratuita. Confira a programação da mostra abaixo!
The short film Arrangement by Camila Hepplin was selected for the Mostra Sesc de Cinema - Bahia 2017/2018. The announcement was made on April 5, 2018. This is the second Festival in which the short film is selected and the second Brazilian festival that Hepplin has a film screened. In addition, the director was also invited to a chat to discuss the Female Perspective about the Cinema in Bahia and Brazil with some other female directors from Bahia. "O Arranjo" foi selecionado para seu primeiro festival de cinema e foi no Brasil, quebrando um ritmo de seleções internacionais da Diretora Camila Hepplin. Desde sua primeira edição, em 1998, o Festival Taguatinga de Cinema objetiva incentivar a produção cinematográfica independente, apresentando curtas.
A categoria em que o filme foi selecionado é a online e a votação acontece entre 7 de maio e 7 de junho, serão 30 dias para assistir aos curtas-metragens disponíveis no site do Festival e votar naqueles que mais gostar. O 60SIFF, como é também conhecido, é uma plataforma destinada ao empoderamento da juventude. O objetivo é incentivar qualquer um que tenha uma estória para criar e filmar o que pensa em 60 segundos. O 1º curta da diretora e roteirista Camila Hepplin, "From The Bus" foi selecionado para o African Smartphone International Film Festival (ASIFF 2017). O Festival acontece em Lagos na Nigéria e é o primeiro e mais prestigioso festival internacional para filmes feitos com smartphones no continente Africano. Segundo Michael Osheku, fundador e diretor do ASIFF, o festival encoraja profissionais, amadores e aspirantes a dividir suas histórias gravadas em smartphones, tablets ou PC's. Esse estilo de produção de filmes geralmente requer treinamento mínimo e experiência para filmar, mas sua existência abre uma nova maneira de fazer filmes com “potenciais ilimitados".
The 1st short film by director and screenwriter Camila Hepplin, "From The Bus" was selected for the African Smartphone International Film Festival (ASIFF 2017). The Festival takes place in Lagos in Nigeria and is the first and most prestigious international festival for films made with smartphones on the African continent. According to Michael Osheku, founder and director of ASIFF, the festival encourages professionals, amateurs and aspirants to share their recorded stories on smartphones, tablets or PC's. Camila e Thaís foram convidadas pelos coordenadores do CLIC para falar sobre o processo do filme, desde o desenvolvimento até a finalização. As duas haviam participado da 2ª edição do curso e produziram o curta "O Arranjo" como resultado final. Thaís que produziu falou de como foi produzir um filme pela primeira vez. Já Hepplin, que já havia produzido 3 curtas antes, falou de sua experiência em produzir como um grupo, o que não estava acostumada. Confere no vídeo abaixo!
Camila and Thaís were invited by the CLIC coordinators to talk about the process of the film, from development to finalization. The two had participated in the 2nd edition of the course and produced the short "The Arrangement" as a final project. Thaís who produced spoke of how it was to produce a movie for the first time. "From The Bus" é um dos 488 curtas de diferentes países que será exibido no Salair International Independent Film Festival. O festival que acontece na Rússia está em seu 1º ano e promete mostrar os melhores curtas e seus realizadores. Primeiro de tudo, o Salair convida diretores que fazem filmes com baixo orçamento e seu objetivo é dar ao cineastas independentes a oportunidade de se expressarem.
"From The Bus" is one of the 488 short films from different countries that will be screened at the Salair International Independent Film Festival. The festival that happens in Russia is in its first year and promises to show the best short films and their filmmakers. First of all, the Salair invites directors who make films with low budget and its goal is to give independent filmmakers the opportunity to express themselves.
